JUDGE’S CHOICE WINNER – Photo Contest
Jack Frost in “Jack Frost“
Just another WordPress site
Cap’n O.G Readmore in “Pip Pip! I do declare!”
Cap’n O.G. Readmore is named from a cartoon in the 80′s who did a little song and dance about reading. I found him at a shelter when he was about 8 years old and realized this is where the Cap’n retired from television.
He thinks he’s a dog. By that… I mean he’ll eat anything, come when called, will wear clothes, and makes out with girl dogs… as long as they’re bigger than him. His girlfriend is a boxer.
FIRST PLACE WINNER – Best Black Cat Photo
Caly in “Play Time”
Caly is a quirky cat, who is well aware of how adorable she is — and shows it off a lot!
Joule in “Time Out”
Joule isn’t the brightest kitty. She’s a 10 year old shelter kitty that moved with me across the country. She makes us laugh a lot with her odd behaviors – including sitting with her face into corners. Oh Joule!
Pico in “Snoozing”
Pico is a 10 year old big boy who likes to spread out no matter where he is. His favorite place for sleeping alone is near the fireplace where the sun can reach him too.
Pico is in renal failure, but has been doing well with treatment.
FIRST PLACE WINNER – Best Black and White Photo
Tiger Lily in “Somewhere, over the sandbox”
Tiger Lily is my niece. She’s won the costume competition several years in a row. I’m a proud auntie.
Jack in “I Love Candy”
I adopted Jack in Sept 2012 and he has really blossomed in the year and a half since we’ve been together. He was left at my vet’s office by his previous owners and I was lucky enough to bring him home. He loves to chew and nibble on things and is always curious about what I’m eating and asks me to share!
FIRST PLACE WINNER – Grumpiest Looking Cat Photo
Roxy in “Seriously? Use the toilet? Not on my watch…” (with Buster in the background)
Roxy, the cat situated in the toilet, atop the litter bin (“Step One” of trying to teach your cat to use the toilet) clearly has a mind of her own. My opinionated 4 year old Tabby was adopted by me from Paws 4 years ago. Her partner in crime is Buster (black kitty in the background, also from Paws). Buster did much better with the toilet training until the litter pan was removed completely. His revenge was after holding his bladder for a day, urinating on my head while I was sleeping.
I think the above pretty much says it all. Cats are awesome, with limitless photo opportunities. But when it come to toilet training, don’t believe the marketing hype. Cats, after all, are cats. They also won’t help you with your taxes. And they definitely don’t do windows.
Krogan in “And…Done!”
Krogan is a 5-year old orange Tom. We adopted him from NOAH in December 2012. He is a “large and in charge” cat whose favorite activity is chasing mice and birds (shh, don’t tell him they aren’t real!). Don’t tell him I said this, but he’s also a very cuddly, affectionate cat too!
Cupcake in “I Don’t Want this Blanket Here”
Cupcake is an FeLv+ rescue and as her name implies a real sweetie but when she does not want her blanket on the computer desk, well you see what happens!
